Run Disney

One of the reasons I've neglected this little blog was a decision one of my best friends and I made many years ago. Both of us being huge Disney fans, we've long discussed the idea of completing the Disney Princess Half Marathon together. Since I am finally finished with school, the 2016 race was perfect since it would give me time to get into half marathon shape. Back in April, I started the intermediate half marathon training plan on my favorite running app, Runkeeper. I can't tell you how great this app is not to mention how easy to follow the training plan is.

My current plan ends the first week of October, and I plan to start another that will kick it up a notch and put me in the best shape for the race in February. I'd love to hear from y'all about any race day or training tips you have! If you're on Runkeeper, find me here to keep up with my workouts, I'm always looking for more buddies to help motivate me!

I can explain...

Well hello friends. It's been awhile no? I haven't really kept up with blogging lately for several reasons, mostly because I've been busy learning my new job, trying to spend time with family, and training for a half marathon. But I'm back and ready to share some recent expeditions.

May was spent enjoying evening boat rides complete with the best pizza around (Vineyard55 if you find yourself in Bluffton).

At the end of  May (almost) my entire family headed to the mountains outside of Asheville to spend family time together before my older brother and sister in law left for Japan for 3 years. It involved a lot of hiking, swimming in freezing waterfall pools, and hot tubbin'.

We also visited the Biltmore and romped around the beautiful gardens.

July started off with a bang and our annual Fourth of July "Americapalooza" at our house. It was complete with an even bigger inflatable slip and slide.

August and July were spent attending weddings and celebrating new family. (I also kicked my half marathon training into higher gear, but more on that later.)

I know everyone and their mom is saying, but I'm anxiously awaiting Autumn. We've been experiencing some of the hottest days in years. I'm ready to cool down, relax by a fire and do a lot of nothing!
