Ringing in the New Year

No comments:
We've made it a tradition to travel to beautiful Blowing Rock, NC for New Year's celebrations. We always have such a fun time exploring the town, skiing, and visiting a few places that only the town can offer. We've spent the last few days here and have had some adventures.

We made a quick stop at the grocery store upon arrival to stock up on the essentials: Champagne, bacon, and mustaches

Wearing my Barbour vest, and Loft checkered shirt for our adventure

We Found a waterfall on our way to Grandfather Mt.
Today we found ourselves on Beech Mountain.

As we left Beech Mountain, we stumbled upon what looked like Narnia.

More adventures to come!

As the weather cools down again, nothing could make me happier than a beautiful quilted vest pair with a great plaid shirt. Throw on some comfy Frye boots and there you have it, the perfect outfit!

It's no secret I adore plaid. It is so perfect for fall and cold weather! My sister and I have teamed up to bring you several different plaid looks. Check back tomorrow for outfit details!

Merry Christmas

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas and were able to spend time with their friends and family. I'll be back tomorrow with some new outfit posts!

Merry Christmas Eve!

One of my many favorites of Christmas is holiday attire. Tulle skirts are so big right now, and I couldn't be happier! I actually made this skirt myself one weekend and it turned out pretty well. At the time, I couldn't find any skirts that I really liked, most were a little too full, or had too many lengths involved. I have since found some over at Space 46. I have to say, I may need to buy a black one now!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

One year down

Only 15 months to go! My first year of PA school ended as of 9:28am. I am so happy to be finished and ready to celebrate the upcoming holidays. Naturally one of more difficult finals was today, and in the spirit of beating the odds I may have been inspired by Katniss.

Here's to three weeks of family, fun, and festivities!

What I've been doing

I am one final away from Christmas break! Needless to say I've been spending a large amount of my time either studying or pretending to.

Our school doesn't allow food or drinks in any classroom, or study room for that matter. We may or may not have broken that rule the other day.

My poor Berkley bear is feeling a little sad that I haven't had time to play with her lately.

But our cat Dumbles doesn't seem to mind.

Clinical Wear

Here are two outfits I wore recently. The first, I wore to my ALE last wednesday. It was a pretty busy morning as I  was able to see about 5 patients in a couple hours. I also learned some great pearls from my preceptor that day.

Pants {J.Crew} Shirt {J.Crew}

This one I wore just the other day. This dress is so comfortable and pretty long considering most dresses these days almost show your cheeks!

five to go. Yesterday we had another test. We typically have two a week. The bright side of this is that we are nearing the end! One more test, then four finals and we'll all be on Christmas vacation! Below is the outfit I wore to rock my surgery test.

Scenes from my Weekend

No comments:
Luckily I was able to partake in some holiday festivities this weekend as we approach final exams next week. Friday night the town of Beaufort had their annual Christmas night on the town where the stores stay open later and food an drinks are served on the street.

Saturday evening we attended the annual Palmetto Bluff Conservancy dinner. The event was decorated so wonderfully, unfortunately they didn't plan for rain and it ended a bit earlier than expected.

Top {Philosophy from TjMaxx}  Jeans {J.Crew similar} Boots {Corso Como Royston}
The ginormous bonfire they built.
The lovely table setting, complete with coleman lanterns hung by shepherd's hooks.
We then went on out to the "farm" to celebrate a good friend's birthday. Sunday was spent relaxing and studying for the test I have this morning.
How was your weekend spent?

Holiday Party Wear

I've put together some of my favorite holiday dresses for an any budget. These dresses are perfect for Christmas soirees and even New Year's.

Holiday Party

This was my outfit inspiration for last New Year's Eve. I found a similar dress with a low cut back at a boutique and paired it with my J.Crew coat and BCBG nude pumps. I sure do adore those Christian Louboutin pumps, but who doesn't!

New Year's outfit

I'm currently considering one of these for this year's affair.
