Weekending

I'm linking up with Biana to share my weekend that was spent celebrating a multitude of things. Friday was my last day at my surgery rotation and I was happy to have a half day to study (or celebrate). The pup and I are participating in the 100 Miles by Christmas challenge from the lovely ladies at Tone It Up and we made sure to log some miles Friday.

On Friday we dined in downtown Beaufort for our friend's birthday before exploring the stores that stayed open late to kick of the Christmas shopping season locally.

This is one of our closest friends, he's a french model.
Saturday the hubs participated in a scavenger hunt at Palmetto Bluff in support of their conservancy. I took this time to wrap presents and relax around the house. Later that evening we made our way to the dinner and bonfire the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy was throwing. To say they had a big bonfire would be an extreme understatement. I tried my best to get a decent iPhone picture of us in front of it, but sadly despite our discussion of the best location it was still too dark.

So we settled for a pic without the fire behind us.
Those are grown men walking by the fire. Can you even imagine how hot the fire was?

The spread for dinner was beautifully Southern. Coleman lanterns hung on Shepherd's hooks, and antlers and pine needles decorated the table.
The food was delightful, but unfortunately the company at our table was not so we ate our dinner quickly and rejoined our group of friends to celebrate them winning the scavenger hunt! As you can tell we were thrilled to take the "golden" armadillo home for a week (yes, that is it's butt).
We headed home with happy hearts and a new trophy to play with for a week. I went to bed knowing where it was, but it still startled me Sunday morning when I woke up. After my heart rate slowed from the surprise of "el 'dillo" we ate our breakfast and went to church. Our Sunday was spent eating pizza, relaxing and staying warm as the cold front finally came through.

Here's to a week full of studying! Happy Monday ladies!
