Thanksgiving Recap

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got to spend time with the family. I'm linking up with Biana and her Weekending Linkup. I was lucky enough to have 5 full days in a row off. I guess it paid off taking so much call earlier in the month. After leaving the hospital on Tuesday I packed my bags and the little pooch and we headed home to see my parents. I spent a few days with them until the hubs finished up with work Wednesday evening. We did a whole lot of relaxing and catching up that night as we watched the worst movie I've ever seen, Snowpiercer, on Netflix. It's seriously terrible, and we headed straight to bed afterwards.

Thursday morning was spent preparing for my grandma's lunch. We went over early to assist her in unstuffing the second turkey she cooked. Yep second, she made a "gluten free" turkey and stuffing for my cousin, and we helped her with the "full of gluten" turkey because it was tastier.  After eating our weight in turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and more we returned to my parents' house to take a family picture before we went our ways for the remainder of the day. Jared was clearly thrilled to be taking photos, he was floating from the excitement.

After photos we packed our things and started on our way back to the Lowcountry. We were greeted with lovely flowers on the tables as the food was soon brought out. A big tradition down here is steamed oysters and fried turkey for Thanksgiving. It was certainly different from the spread my grimed prepared, but different isn't a bad thing.

The rest of my weekend was spent dodging sales crowds and logging miles for the Tone It Up Christmas Challenge. Only 60 more miles until Christmas, although I started late and may give myself a few days to make it up.

I also want to send out a huge congratulations to the lovely Kristina from Medicine & Manicures! Check out her page tomorrow for more info!
