Savannah Dining

One thing I have absolutely enjoyed about my current rotation is it's proximity to some great restaurants in downtown Savannah. I haven't spent nearly as much time there as I have Charleston, but it was nice to explore all the nooks and crannies of this old city.
Collins Quarter | A must stop for coffee. Their cold brew is absolutely delicious, but my favorite is the Mint Julep Latte and Lavender Mocha. Word on the street (and Facebook) is that Channing Tatum has even been there.

Papillote | A favorite of mine for years, this little cafe has never disappointed me. They have all kinds of little French nibbles as well as seasonal macarons.

District Cafe & Eatery | A fabulous place for lunch settled close to the building in which I am working. It's only a block away and features some rather tasty sandwiches. I went on a limb and tried their special of the day which contained chocolate spread, raspberry preserves, brie and bacon. It was fabulous.

Laurie's Restaurant | It's claim to fame is that Jenny from Forrest Gump worked there in the movie. That's really cool, but their food is also well worth the trip. It's good southern home cooking at a great price for downtown. They also feature daily specials, my favorite of which was the fried pork chop.

Dept 7 East | This is by far my favorite restaurant by decoration alone. The owner and I share very similar taste. It's packed with fluffy cotton bouquets, and garnished with an antler or tasteful taxidermy animal here or there. Oh and their food is rather tasty too. Do not miss the Fried Green Tomatoes!

 Said Fried Green Tomatoes.
I don't think you got the full effect, take a closer look. I'm still dreaming of these crunchy delicious bites topped with homemade pepper jelly!
Forgive the hot-messed look. I forgot to apply mascara and therefore look rather ill.

The Paris Market (Cafe) | A fabulously French cafe nuzzled into the corner of a precious gift and decor store on Broughton, this place is the perfect stop to grab a quick bite. They have macarons, pastries, and fabulously French sandwiches along with some of the best drink options in town. Their French soda is always a winner, but don't overlook the aqua du jour. My favorite so far has been cantaloupe + mint.

While you're snacking on your quick bites, take a stroll downstairs. I would buy the whole floor if I could.
